Loren & Sheila Walker
We accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior many years ago. Over the past decade each of us have come to believe that the term "Lord" carries with it all of the ramifications os a Kingship. Subjects of the King are duty bound (by their acceptance) to follow all of Hi Commandments as they understand them.
Our membership has been at Frist Baptist for over a quarter century. We also observe the Sabbath (the seventh day of the week) with another church and with human frailty adhere to this motto: "In essentials-unity, In peripherals-freedom, In all things-love."
The following verses convey to us a literal truth: James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead.
Our working careers were at Iowa Southern Utilities Company in Centerville. Sheila was a secretary in Marketing and later Energy Services. Loren (an Electrical Engineer) worked in electric system planning, protective relaying and transmission design. He later managed system design in data processing, electric system operations and engineering.
Sheila's pastimes are reading and shopping. Loren's are Sudoku and golf.
